The Monkey King has quickly become a favorite dining spot for the New York Standard & Strange Crew. The Bushwick restaurant is a combination of owners Harvey Wong and Munzzy Uddin’s respective Chinese and Bengali heritage and culture in a way that feels uniquely New York. At the center of their philosophy is the motto “culture is meant to be shared,” a message that can apply to cuisine as well as style. At The Monkey King, Wong and Uddin have built a physical expression of their motto, where the cuisine and the company can share in culture and become the center of an eclectic community. For part II of our Spring/Summer 2024 Lookbook, the gang from Standard & Strange New York went over the East River to Bushwick to come together with Wong and Uddin for a meal at their Monkey King.
