From hand-weaving to hand-knitting, traditional dyeing methods, and atelier-style production, they work to create truly unique and beautiful pieces that highlight the skill and history of the craftspeople who make them.
Inspired by vintage French work jackets, the Study Coat is an exceptionally comfortable and handsome unstructured blazer. With fully finished flat-felled seams throughout, the the fit is enhanced through the tailoring, featuring a casual square hem and long darts down either side of the placket. The minimally structured collar leans toward being worn up, but still folds down nicely should you want to dress the jacket up a bit.
It's made from "military herringbone" twill, handwoven with hand-spun 100% cotton yarns, it's an extremely textured and slubby fabric with a soft hand and phenomenal drape. The color comes from a blend of natural iron and indigo dyes, woven together into a dark charcoal-blue that will patina beautifully over time. The low-tension hand weave gives the fabric its unique and uneven texture, and the herringbone pattern breathes easily in hot and humid weather.
The whole thing closes up with tonal horn buttons that compliment the fabric in both color and texture. Two patch pockets sit on the front of the jacket above the hem, with a single chest pocket on the outside and another on the inside for secret storage.
True to size with a relaxed fit. Wash cold and hang dry.
