A new style for Mister Freedom, The Nouvelle Vague ("New Wave" in French) is named for the cinema scene they would look most at home in. French New Wave filmmaking may not be for everyone –– though maybe it should be –– but these slacks certainly won't disappoint. Made from a breezy linen cotton mix, with sleek fit and matching understated color, the Nouvelle Vague slacks have the "do anything" nature of jeans and the sophisticated chops art house cinema.

Based on an unusual tailor made pair of 1950s French trousers in the Mister Freedom archive, the construction and fit is reminiscent of early 60s continental sporty looks sported by the likes of Jean-Paul Belmondo. The slacks are made from new old stock crosshatch denim twill which means the grey warp & natural weft yarns will tend to develop a more pronounced crisscross pattern as it fades. The 8 oz. gray crosshatch denim is made from a 60% cotton 40% linen blend and is woven in Italy.

These are made from a raw unsaforized denim and are designed to shrink to the marked size after an initial wash. True to size after a wash, with a relaxed fit through the waist. Wash cold and hang dry.
