Product details
This knockout reproduction of the WWII era US Navy M-43 Deck Jacket is The Real McCoy's at their best. This reproduction ticks all the boxes for authenticity and is one of the iconic deck jackets worn by the US Navy. Not as famous as the N-1, but just as rugged and thoughtfully designed.
Developed in 1943 and issued out to sailors the following year, the M-43 Deck Jacket finds its lineage between the early war sip front deck jacket and the alpaca lined N-1. The unique hook closures were intended to reduce salt water corrosion on the hardware and make it easier to open and close when bundled up with gloves on.
The Real McCoy's reproduction is made from only the most authentic materials –– as you'd expect. The outer shell is made from navy blue "jungle cloth," a cotton heavy duty Bedford Cord made to help keep the icy North Atlantic winds at bay. The inside lining is a navy melton wool for additional insulation, with a Rayon interlining providing further wind cheating capabilities. The front closure features a storm flap with the steel ratchet clip closures. The jacket has one closure at the waist, some variations of the jacket featured two. Wool knit cuffs and hem along with two "D" patch pockets round out the formidable jacket.
Fits true to size. Spot clean stains, dry clean as needed.
