Spring Staff Picks From S&S NYC
As Jonathan Richman once sang, "I love springtime in New York," and its finally here, in all its rainy flower blooming glory. To ring in the new season, we have an all new Staff pick round up. We have new pieces coming into the shop every week from both old friends and new designers alike. It can all be a bit overwelming sometimes, so our New York team got together to highlight their favorite pieces that have come in the door recently.
"If a gun was put to my head, & I was forced to describe my personal style. Id say, rooted in tradition but with an imaginative and futuristic eye. Then I would ask, if the was gun necessary?"
I chose the motiv helix trousers because those are the ones I already own. I tend to go for utility and then fashion flair. I want it to have purpose and then look refined with taste. The motiv trousers look and have the cut of a work trouser. Almost a baggy cowboy silhouette. But then accented with waxed canvas and these almost futuristic features. The McCoys bomber is the same. A perfect jacket and passed the test of time in style since it’s originally a military bomber. Then the shine and inside lining have such nice elements that add on top of its purpose. It’s the perfect weight and silhouette.
My style is kind of "Pirate's day off on his way to baseball practice listening to Orbital."
For my style I love to work with cropped jackets and a baggier pants, that's always my go to. This spring I'm starting to step out from wearing all black and explore with color in my wardrobe. These bottoms from Vintage Heavy fit just right in all of the right places and pair well with any cropped jacket.
