What We're Doing: Ongoing Activism

We've committed to volunteering our team's time to activism. Each employee gets paid to spend a minimum of two hours per week on activism. This page is updated weekly to reflect what we're working on.

Below is a list of what we're doing this week - it's organized so you can easily join us in enacting change.

Before you start, make sure that you are aware of your voter registration status Also, feel free to use this tool to email your representatives about anything, the topic does not have to be part of a pre-existing campaign. Just enter your address and it will allow you to contact your reps.

TRANS RIGHTS

Read about the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s proposal to deny transgender people access to single-sex taxpayer funded shelter facilities that correspond to their gender identity, and why the proposal is so dangerous. This proposal would negate the effects of the 2016 Equal Access Rule to protect the rights of gender non-conforming individuals seeking shelter. Then submit a public comment directly to HUD against this proposal, and email Congress to ensure Equal Access to Shelter.
