The A-2 Deck Jacket was developed by the US Navy in the 1960s to replace the iconic WWII N-1. The A-2 would go on to be issued for decades, far longer than its more famous WWII cousins. The Real McCoy's reproduction follows the details and pattern of early contract A-2s of the early 1960s.
Like the N-1, This early style A-2 is made from the same Bedford Cord "Jungle Cloth" –– this was only the case for a brief transition period before changing over to a nylon cotton blend. The lining is an acrylic pile in a similar green hue as the shell and features wool knit storm cuffs.
The front closure featured a buttoned storm front with a zipper below featuring a cloth pull to make it easier to use while bundled up. The A-2 has two front slash hand warmer pockets as well as a snap closed patch pocket on the left side of the chest. All together the A-2 makes for a toasty cold war warrior.
Fits slim. Consider sizing up for if you are intending to layer below. Dry Clean if needed.
