It only takes a few seconds of handling a Bode garment to understand the incredible complexity and detail in each piece. Concepts are pushed to their logical conclusion, choosing detailed embroidery or hand-beaded designs in place of simpler prints or woven patterns. With their emphasis on one-of-a-kind garments, antique textiles, and truly inspired takes on classic workwear styles, we're incredibly excited to be adding Bode to our lineup.
Bode's Side-Tie Trousers are one of their more iconic styles, cut in an old-school leisure fit, with a high rise, roomy top block, and full straight legs with lots of space to breathe (and phenomenal drape). Lacking belt loops, these pants have an adjustable fit above each hip - featuring ties just beneath the waist at either side that can be used to secure the fit.
The fabric is entirely custom, a 100% viscose shadow plaid twill designed to emulate a vintage suiting fabric from the 1940s. The plaid itself is intended to be evocative of workwear styles from the era, but it's been elevated here, as the extremely detailed weave combined with the ombre of the plaid give a blurry "out of focus" effect from a distance, while the heavyweight viscose moves like silk, flowing and sliding along with the wearer's movements.
The inside is partially lined and trimmed with more heavy viscose, which feels great on the skin and breathes remarkably well (especially paired with the relaxed and breezy fit). The hardware is minimal, and mostly hidden, having only a few visible horn buttons at the back pockets flaps and front of the waist, with an out of sight fly zipper and waist tab, as they should be. If you needed somewhere to put your hands, there are two pretty roomy pockets at the sides that you could use.
