11.11 is an exceptional label, with an ethos that strongly aligns with the S&S call to own fewer, better things — producing slow-fashion garments deliberately and sustainably across a network of local artisans and craftspeople throughout India. Everything they make is truly unique, with an undeniably natural and "human" element, from their patchwork and kantha embroidery, to the irregular nature of their low-tension handwoven textiles, to the tie-dye and natural indigo finishes, all of which will patina beautifully over time.
The Kino Jacket is an oversized blazer style jacket - the Long Kino Jacket is an extended version with an extra long torso and heavy body, more suited for colder weather and transitional seasons. It has a loose and exaggerated fit, with an unlined body as well as a four-button placket. The hem is cut flat, with no vents or breaks except at the front, further lending to the casual and relaxed silhouette.
The long version of the jacket is excellently suited to layering, with two fairly spacious handwarmer pockets and an open torso. The construction features an interesting blend of clean and raw edges, with an entirely finished interior but raw edge details framing the collar, lapels, placket, hem, and at junctions in the patchwork body.
It's made from a patchwork blend of 60% cotton and 40% silk textiles, with various warm gray tone and gentle yellow sections derived from natural dyes. Both airy and substantial, it's got an excellent heft and drape, but still breathes well thanks to the lower-tension weave of the body.
It has 11.11's usual trims, small embroidered details, like the bottom button and the little red flower under the hem, as well as a removable bottle with a tiny embroidered cloth inside. Due to the patchwork nature of this garment, no two are exactly alike, and yours may different slightly from what we've photographed.
