Black Sign's interpretation of the Havana shirt focuses in on the era of exploitation before the revolution, when American gangsters and crooks owned the very lucrative hotels and casinos around the Cuban capital, catering to and attracting wealthy American tourists and their money. These Flower Stripe Havana Shirts are a distillation of that historical snapshot - casual, elegant, comfortable, and maybe just a little bit seedy under the surface (not really, this is a shirt).
Featuring one of the most unique spread collars we've seen, it sits open naturally, with swooping rounded edges and well defined points. It can be fixed closed with an extremely interesting long loop and button system that can be discreetly stowed when not in use. The body features a relaxed and breezy fit, with real horn buttons, short sleeves, and a flat hem. There are two small pockets on the lower front of the shirt, both properly pattern-matched to the complex design of the fabric.
Speaking of the fabric, it's also quite special, made from 100% cotton, it's an open weave that's very lace-like, with jacquard patterning depicting miniature florals and vertical stripes and patterns throughout. This is an ideal hot weather shirt, sitting just off the body and letting pretty much 100% of air through the fabric.
