From Victorian era curiosities to early 20th century equestrian and motorcycle wear to rare WW2 era items - Black Sign garments are beautifully constructed, with a shared identity and aesthetic cohesion running through the collection to a degree we rarely see in brands focusing on reproductions & recreations.
The BS Novelist Cardigan is an elevated layering piece with a v-neck and a tonal button placket. Made from a woven fabric as opposed to a more traditional knit one, it has two hand pockets on the front with a relaxed and structured drape — fluid, but not loose or stretchy. The fit is just right, wearable as both as outerwear and beneath other bigger garments as a layering piece, with a relaxed torso and tapered sleeves.
It's made from Black Sign's "Shine Black" rayon pile fabric, an extremely soft and textured textile with great heat retention. The outer face very fine, with dark black "hairs" that feature a gentle luster throughout that is designed to imitate hair-on-hide leathers. The front closes up 5 large buttons, and the inside face of the fabric is kept smooth for additional comfort.
