It only takes a few seconds of handling a Bode garment to understand the incredible complexity and detail in each piece. As a brand, they don't produce basics, they produce Grails - from custom fabrics to detailed embroidery & quilting, or hand-beaded designs in place of simpler prints or woven patterns, everything is elevated and interesting.
Cut in a simple work jacket style reminiscent of a mechanic's jacket, the Boar Applique Jacket features custom boar patches adorning the front, with Bear and Bode patches on the back. The fit is relaxed through the chest, with a slightly cropped body, wide drop-shoulders, and boxy sleeves that measure short (but fit normally because of the dropped shoulder).
Made from a soft 100% cotton twill fabric, the standout details are obviously the red patches across the front and back of the body. Inside, it's unlined, and the comfortable mid-weight cotton requires no break-in, draping easily and breathing well - making it perfect for warmer weather. The design was inspired by a set of animal-applique flags from the early 1900s, having been reimagined here as a work jacket.
The trims are also worth mentioning - buttons at the cuffs, heavy YKK zipper up the front, and two welted handwarmer pockets at the sides.
