Description
The G&G take on a classic work shirt has got to be one of our favorites, with a great fit and uniquely-shaped (but very roomy and functional) chest pockets. The torso is relaxed, with a flat hem and a box pleat in the back for a more casual drape and easy layering if you want to wear this as a light jacket. It's got a six button placket, with full sleeves that also end in a two-button cuff, and a classic collar — really everything you'd ask for in a shirt.
It's made from a custom stripe fabric, designed for Graziano & Gutiérrez by the Family Bautista Martinez in Oaxaca, Mexico. Produced slowly, it's woven up on a pedal-operated loom using 100% cotton yarns, with a noticeably varied texture and a plush hand. The stripes are woven into the fabric itself, rather than dyed or printed onto it, with chunkier sections that break up the pattern of the weave and add a subtle visual pop to the already handsome design.
The stripe pattern is asymmetrically cut through the body and sleeves, with this style produced in very limited batches by Graziano & Gutiérrez in Portland, Oregon. Each shirt includes multiple custom woven tags, featturing handwritten details including the production date, edition number, and the fabric's origin. The sleeve cuffs and front all close up with tonal buttons, and there's a woven hang loop inside the collar.
