The latest fabric in Freenote's impressive and ever-growing selection of custom denims has landed. Clocking in between 15 and 16oz, this custom selvedge was woven exclusively for Freenote by Yoshiwa Mills in Japan. Featuring extremely rich, dark indigo warp and warm brown weft threads, these are an extremely dynamic denim, with some of the most attractive fading we've seen.
Though it can take slightly longer to break in than some lighter denims, the Blue/Brown starts out surprisingly soft thanks to its hairy face texture, and continues to soften considerably over time, relaxing from wear and washing. The indigo layer will fade the most prominently, revealing the brown core underneath - which in turn will also fade to tan and then beige and then sand/white over time.
The Wilkes are Freenote's more modern take to a classic cowboy cut jean. With a high rise, comfortable thigh, and very slight taper to a leg opening big enough to fit a pair of boots under, they're an excellent cowboy twist on a classic tapered fit. The double flat felled seams on each leg add strength and longevity to the pants, while still maintaining the selvedge detail on the outseam.
The finishings are of an equal calibre, with custom copper rivets, a YKK fly zip, full grain leather Freenote flasher, and custom woven labels.
Fits true to size. Minimal shrinkage expected with a cold wash and hang dry.
