The WEP Civilian Model jacket is the non-combat model of the US Navy's "J-WFS" (JACKET - WINTER, FLYING SUIT). What does WEP stand for? Well, it's an abbreviation of "BUWEPS" or US Navy Bureau of Weapons. Why did they call it that? I'm not sure, but after some digging around I'm just glad to have an explanation of what "WEP" meant.
A great casual jacket for most seasons, the WEP Civilian Model jacket features a sturdy nylon body with a soft cotton twill lining. Two patch pockets on the front feature side entry (for your hands) and top entry (with a snap cover, to protect your favorite objects), with additional storage on the left sleeve.
The fit is relaxed, with an elongated torso and wide chest that layers easily over a sweatshirt or thick midlayer (should you so desire). Wool knit ribbing closes up the cuffs and collar, while an elasticated hem helps keep the jacket sitting handsomely on your waist.
