In addition to playing the hits (N-1 Deck Jackets, Buco J-24Ls, Lot 001 Denim...etc.) The Real McCoy's are also fans of a good deep cut. The Submarine Jacket is exactly that, an obscure and very rare piece of vintage military apparel that is more than deserving of the light of day.

WWII-era Submarine Jackets may well be some of the rarest military garments around these days, as there were very few produced and few issued. Those that were issued have not circulated much around vintage and secondhand markets, creating an air of mystery around original submarine jackets.

Not the sort of jacket to wear inside a submarine (we understand that it's quite hot down there), these are made from an extremely thick double layer wool herringbone, which is almost impossible to see beneath the hairy, fuzzy texture of the fabric's face. This stiff wool will relax and break in over time, and with wear, the herringbone pattern of the fabric will become more prominent.

The jacket features two large flap pockets at the waist, as well as a tall shawl collar (designed to be worn up for additional wind and weather protection) with a wool chinstrap for ultimate security. The chest is wide and roomy, great for layering over other softer things when the temperatures really drop.
