The A-3 Cap is possibly the most of the most subtly iconic pieces of US Military headwear, persisting well into the modern age almost in secret, appearing to most as a short brimmed ball cap. But it's much more than that - originally issued during the second World War, the A-3 "Mechanics" cap was issued to, as you may have guessed, mechanics - but became popular among pilots and aircrews thanks to the hat's functional, comfortable, and compact design.

Originally made from a drab olive or tan cotton, it wasn't unheard of for civilian tailors to reproduce their own versions from other materials after the war. For this particular reimagining, McCoy's have spared no expense, producing an A-3 from the same Seal Brown aniline horsehide as their A-2 jackets - a custom vegetable tanned shinki horsehide developed by The Real McCoy's to best imitate the original temper and color of samples from their vintage archive.

Inside, it's trimmed with cotton broadcloth, the same fabric that lines their A-2 jackets (noticing a pattern here?), with heavy duty 100% cotton thread holding everything together. It's the perfect fusion of leather jacket and hat.

Fits true to size. Do not wash.
