IssueThings is a brand worth checking out — it's difficult to find, especially outside of Japan, with fantastic design and a level of quality that exceeds our already high standards. Originally founded in 2020, their pieces are unisex, often coming in only one size and cut generously for a relaxed fit, with contemporary styles inspired by everything from countercultural youth movements to vintage military surplus.
The Type 65 Jacket takes inspiration from the iconic MA-1 jacket, one of the first non-leather pilot's jackets to be issued by the US military. IssueThings' take is a little more unique, with a slightly exaggerated silhouette that's slightly longer in the back than in the front, a zip pocket on both sleeves, and a lightweight stand collar. The fit through the body is relaxed, with dropped shoulders and a wide chest that is emphasized by the elasticated hem.
It's made from a shrunken cotton/nylon fabric, with a very uniquely crinkled texture throughout. Lightweight and unrestrictive, the blended fabric offers some pretty solid wind and water resistance, insulating pretty well too thanks to the 100% cotton lining. It's got a hardware-forward design, with a full zip placket, two zip hand pockets on the front, and two additional zip pockets on the sleeves (one each), with heavy duty YKK zippers throughout.
True to size with a relaxed unisex fit. Spot clean or dry clean only.
