Originally founded in 2006, Attractions began as a vintage reseller, importing pieces from the United States and the UK before starting their own production in 2011. Their experience in the vintage world provided them with the knowledge and inspiration necessary to develop their own styles, growing into an impressive and very special brand in a market saturated with alternatives.
With a deliberate focus on highly specific and often obscure styles from the last hundred years, Attractions produce some truly stellar and unique pieces, occupying a stylistic wheelhouse closely adjacent to "biker" but plainly distinct from other similar repro brands. Inspired by the progression of youth culture and style, Attractions infuse their own perspective into both the pieces they design, and the ways they design them.
The "Tribal Shirt" is another of Attractions' stellar vacation shirts, with a 1940s-50s style long pointed open collar and a custom print inspired by historical African designs. The yarns used in weaving the fabric are ultra fine, and allow for more vivid color and detailed patterning throughout.
It's got a classic boxy fit, exactly what you'd expect from a shirt of this style - loose but not oversized or exaggerated, breezy, and flattering. The front closes up with tonal Cats Eye buttons, and the flat hem gives you the option to wear the whole thing tucked-in, but looks perfectly natural if it isn't.
Woven from a lightweight 100% cotton satin, the fabric starts out slightly "rigid", which we say in quotations because the weight prevents any real resistance - what we mean is that it has essentially no drape to begin with. Over time, and especially with washing, the fabric will soften and relax, draping and flowing slightly more after it has broken in. It's always pretty soft and breathable through, even from the get go, so nothing to worry about there.
