Online, we are only able to offer hems on pants and trousers purchased directly from us. If you are interested in hemming bottoms from elsewhere, please inquire in-person at any of our three retail locations.

All lockstitch hems are done in-house on Juki DDL-8700 sewing machines.

Our current hem turnaround is approximately one week (5-7 business days), on top of our regular shipment processing time of 1-3 business days.
If you need your hemmed pants more quickly, please select express shipping at checkout for a turnaround of 1-2 business days before shipping.

All hemmed pants/trousers are non-returnable.
Lockstitch hemming for items purchased outside of S&S is subject to additional charges.

The Machine.

Our lockstitch hemming service uses Juki DDL-8700 sewing machines for a clean and consistent finish every time. Juki's line of sewing machines are industry-standard for commercial garment manufacturing, known for their quality and reliability — being only used for alterations and regularly maintained, our machines are kept in top condition all the time.

Our In-House Tailor.

Our hemming services are conducted in-house by trained members of the S&S team. We're happy to help measure you for a hem in-store at any of our locations, but the actual hemming is only done in Berkeley and NYC currently. We do accept hems via mail, but this needs to be arranged with us first.
