Product details
This take on the classic Type-1 is based on bandless collar work jackets mostly worn from 1890 to the 1920s. The bandless collar is exactly what it sounds like, the jacket has no sewn on collar band, simply a collar that folds over onto itself. A single external pocket is complimented by a single internal pocket, giving you some helpful storage, and the whole thing closes up with lightweight catseye jacket buttons.
The fit is short and roomy, with a cropped front length that looks best worn with higher rise pants for a cohesive silhouette, but with ample space in the chest and sleeves for layering. The shoulders are ever so slightly dropped, granting further comfort and ease of movement. The fit can also easily be adjusted with the buckle back present on the jacket, giving full control of how you wear it on the fly.
It's made from a lightweight (5.5oz) cotton/linen chambray fabric with a ton of detail. Featuring a jacquard design that depicts tigers, clouds, and the crescent moon — inspired by antique Ikat patterns woven between the Edo period and Meji era in Japan. The warp yarns are made from 100% American cotton, and feature an indigo rope-dyed finish to grant them a dark denim finish that will continue to face over time. The weft uses premium European linen, with a slightly more consistent and lustrous black color.
These run true to size - if you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Minimal shrinkage with cold wash and hang dry.
