Founded in 2005 by designer Ichiro Nakatsu, OrSlow takes it’s name from Ichiro’s desire to make the opposite of fast fashion, or ‘slow clothing’, as he would put it.
OrSlow's Simple Work Jacket is aptly named, with no twists or flashy embellishments, it's as classic as can be, with a small notch-lapel collar, flat hem, and three front bucket pockets. It's left unlined, with a casual and slightly oversized fit that drapes easily over other layers.
It's made from heavyweight Japanese herringbone linen, soft, airy, and washed down, the fabric is dyed with black Sumi ink, giving an irregular finish to the whole thing. The combination of 100% linen yarns and a herringbone weave make it exceptionally comfortable when the weather heats up, with a cool hand that lets air blow through and dries quickly.
It's finished with tonal hardware (buttons) to close up the front placket, and not a lot else. Over time, the textured face of the fabric will continue to fade, developing a unique patina as the ink pigments gradually wear away.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
