Produced in Japan, Olde H & Daughter utilizes premium Banshu-ori fabrics from Nishiwaki City, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. These textiles are made traditionally, woven and dyed using the same regional techniques originally developed in the 1700s. This antique production is slow and deliberate, overseen by a small team of highly specialized craftspeople continuing a centuries-long tradition of local textile creation.
Olde H & Daughter is the sister line to Olde Homesteader, with a focus on luxury mid layers and knit silk garments. The & Daughter sub-label is knit and woven using the same vintage techniques and fabrics as mainline Olde Homesteader, but produces more contemporary unisex styles and silhouettes than Olde Homesteader's simple knit thermals.
An extremely simple and versatile 5 button cardigan, the Silk Mohair Wrap Stitches Cardigan features an oversized and slouchy fit with an open and airy face. It's got a full collar, rather than the usual V-neck or crewneck you'd find on a knit cardigan, letting you style it more like outerwear if desired. The wide fit, full sleeves, and extended body pair naturally with the plush and hairy texture of the knit for a substantial and seasonally-appropriate layering piece.
It's made from a blend of 84% silk and 16% mohair yarns, it has a very soft and neutral hand, feeling neither particularly cool nor dry to the touch, with a hairy texture that's not scratchy or uncomfortable on bare skin. It insulates heat well, clocking in at a sturdy mid-weight that drapes well and feels substantial without encumbering movement.
One size — unisex with a relaxed fit. Hand wash cold and dry flat or spot clean.
