Sawtooth Westerner Shirt - Black
Product details
The first ever Sawtooth Western Shirt was produced in the 1940s, by a mister Jack A. Weil of Rockmount in Colorado. The design has been a hit ever since, and has been iterated on by countless other brands over the years - with this particular model taking inspirations from a cut originally produced in the 1950s (by a very famous and litigious denim company).
The fit is far more vintage than the average western shirt, with a long body cut to be tucked in. While it can be worn untucked, it lacks the more tailored fit of modern western shirts, and has a more oversized look when styled this way. Otherwise, it's about as classic as you can imagine, with a relaxed (but true to size) chest, full shoulders, and a tight collar.
The fabric is a sturdy black cotton twill with just the right amount of drape. Over time, this already comfortable fabric will soften and relax substantially (as a result of wear and washing). A great medium weight, you'll be comfortable wearing these as a shirt when temperatures drop, or as an overshirt when things are hot.
The front closes up with tonal black barrel snaps, as do the pockets and cuffs. The front and back yokes are also angled, for the (mandatory) western flair. On the inside, a custom woven Bryceland's Co. cowboy label assures you that this is indeed the genuine article (and will continue to be for a long time).
Fits true to size. Sanforized, but will shrink a bit after the first wash. If you're in between sizes, we suggest taking the larger of the two. Wash cold, hang dry.
