S&S x Blluemade Garden Jacket - Flax
Product details
A chore coat that has been cut to fit everyone (& not just train engineers from the 1800s) - these have a clean unisex fit that's not too wide or too narrow through the body and shoulders. The sleeves have enough room to comfortably move around in, but aren't billowing or flapping in the breeze.
Though we wanted a more modern fit, we're big stans for vintage pocket configurations. So we went with 3 external (including a side entry chest pocket with a pen loop) and one internal pocket. The Garden Jacket closes up with 6 natural undyed corozo nut buttons, which is a very agreeable amount of buttons for a chore coat.
The fabric, a 6.6oz Belgian Linen from a carbon-neutral Belgian Mill that holds the Masters of Linen certification, is made from long staple fibers, making it naturally wrinkle resistant and strong - it's also soft, sturdy, and never scratchy. As would be expected of a linen of this quality, it breathes and drapes extremely well too. The flax color is undyed, and will pick up color from the ground, plants, and really whatever you do in them.
The custom labels were designed by longtime Blluemade collaborator Tomo W. Adachi. The design was based on War Garden & Victory Garden posters from WWI and WWII (respectively). While the phrase at the bottom is a relevant spin on the Union motto "Labor is entitled to all it produces".
Fits true to size. Blluemade recommends washing with LeBlanc linen wash and line drying.
