Pulling from the more recent past (the 1970s), the Real McCoy's have engineered this incredible full down vest. Equally at home in the city or on the mountain (just so long as it's cold out), with handsome western detailing and and reinforced construction throughout.
The body is made entirely out of a raw sienna cowhide roughout. Roughout is the hardier cousin of suede, with the same napped appearance and soft texture, the leather isn't sanded down at all during finishing, leaving it at a full grain thickness. It's what you get when you reverse a regular leather, leaving it "rough-side out", hence the name. The shoulders are trimmed in McCoy's proprietary seal brown horsehide, produced exclusively for them by Shinki tannery in Japan.
The inside is lined with a soft, 100% nylon fabric, for ease of layering and even more insulation. Between the leather and nylon is a dense filling of French duck down, which does a stellar job of keeping warmth in, while the sturdy leather body blocks any wind.
A 1950s style bell-shaped Universal zipper closes up the front, with custom Joe McCoy DOT snap buttons for additional security. Two handwarmer pockets on the front allow you to keep your hands warm, or hide a magical ring or something.
