MATiAS pieces fall somewhere between avant-garde and vintage workwear, into the realm of "post-heritage" - where the techniques and materials of the past intersect with new ideas and original styles. Designed and manufactured in-house at their LA workshop, MATiAS produce some of the best fits we've experienced, with subtle and sometimes unusual tailoring details, employed deliberately to perfect drape, enhance comfort, & compliment their remarkable fabric choices.
The Rincon Button Up is the MATiAS reinterpretation of the classic chambray work shirt, with elevated details and a truly exceptional fabric. It's cut slightly oversized, with unfinished seams at the sleeves and rear hem, a hidden placket, and a single (large) chest pocket. It's sewn up with 90% single needle stitching, and triple-needle workwear details, for a wonderful blend of elegance and durability.
It's made from a beautiful lightweight Italian oxford fabric, woven from a blend of cotton and hemp yarns, it's got a relaxed drape and breathable face. Weighing in at a cool 6.5oz, the 53% cotton / 47% hemp blend gives you the best of both fibres - staying soft and comfortable thanks to the cotton, while breathing a little easier thanks to the hemp content.
The fit is easy, wearing well as an overshirt or a more simple base layer depending on the weather and your mood. It's full of other small subtle details as well, from the hidden rivet reinforcements at key areas, to the woven sleeve ties at the cuff, to the custom finishing wash on the fabric - all elevating an already exceptional shirt.
