1st PAT-RN is the brainchild of designers Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin, established out of their combined experience in design and fashion consultation. Their garments are laser focused on wearability and optimized for daily life. Kind of a strange sentiment, because what clothes aren't? But it starts to make a lot more sense once you've tried on some 1st PAT-RN. Everything, and we do mean everything, from the fabric composition, to the cut, to the placement of pockets, is done with the wearer in mind.
The Spring/Summer '24 collection, titled de-tailoring, is about deconstructing "the suit" - reimagining traditional blazers and tailoring from a more utilitarian standpoint and returning, in a sense, to the style's humble working origins. Masterfully walking the very fine line they've drawn between elegance and utility, their SS24 lineup is spectacularly versatile, blending elements of workwear, ivy, mil-surp, and traditional suiting into simple yet exceptional garments.
The Pierce Jacket is an extremely simplified workwear garment, removing any frills and leaving only the essentials - featuring a relaxed fit, three easy pockets, and a clean-finish interior. The minimalist design concept comes from traditional Italian workwear - worn by laborers from craftsmen to architects & designers - reimagined as a military fatigue, with an appropriately-olive drab gabardine body.
Cut with a slightly relaxed body, its unrestrictive without being loose or oversized. The design is uncomplicated, with a one-piece back and split front panel that hosts all three of the jacket's welted pockets. It's an easy layering piece, with an unlined body that serves as an excellent shell for almost year-round wear as you stack other garments beneath or over it.
Sewn up from a 100% cotton gabardine fabric that 1st PAT-RN have engineered for maximum durability and ideal drape. Featuring a comfortable mid-weight, it's woven from double-twisted cotton yarns and is milled at the very highest quality from American cotton, using the absolute maximum thread-count possible in a fabric of this weight and thickness. Inspired by vintage US military chinos, it's soft, comfortable, and only gets better with time.
It's finished with tonal corozo nut buttons, and rinsed once for softness and to break-in the fabric. The cuffs feature a powerful 3-button closure, allowing you to really roll them up and keep your sleeves dry or your arms cool, depending on the situation. The four button placket also features one more "bonus" button at the collar, giving you some styling options for your neck.
