Description
Nigel Cabourn needs very little introduction, but deserves one nonetheless: having over 50 years experience designing and working in the menswear industry, with multiple decades-old brands and international stores with cult followings under his belt. His eponymous brand has a focus on practical and hard-wearing textiles from vintage workwear, producing inspired takes on classic military apparel from the last century.
Like all of Cabourn’s designs, the New Medical shirt has a strong historical pedigree. The shirt is based on those worn by the medics on Edmund Hillary's successful Everest Expedition in 1953. It features a unique yoke and underarm construction with reinforced ventilation holes. The shirt pockets are open topped with button closures and pen pocket in the left chest pocket.
Made from an indigo chambray with a tightly-woven lightweight face and a rinsed finish. It's all sewn together with triple-needle seams for extra durability, and the ventilation holes were sewn in using vintage machines.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
