W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.

Introducing the new Spring/Summer '24 Collection: Pawai Paratroopers - a celebration of Thailand's first group of female paratroopers, whose motto was "to prove that women can do anything as well as a man, no matter what affair. Whatever the task, be it on land, in water, or in the air." (Paratrooper Ampai Sombat, Freedom Magazine 1961). Through their action, these women became cultural figureheads of radical change during the 1960s, inspiring new attitudes towards women and social progress throughout Thailand.

The Naa Shirt is a cropped, sleeveless button up with a slightly boxy fit and rounded collar. Cut with a simple five button placket, the front also features two utility pockets, while the back is constructed with a clean, one-piece design. Not much to add beyond that, it's a simple yet exceptional warm weather piece, with a surprising amount of layering potential and stylistic versatility. The Orange Print edition of the Naa Shirt is also designed to be fully-reversible, with a mirrored button placket and alternate fabric textures on the reverse.

It's made from a custom 100% cotton ripstop fabric, designed by W'Menswear and produced exclusively for them at a mill in Japan, who handled both the weaving and printing of the material. Featuring a high-vis twist on a classic Vietnam-era Tiger Camo pattern, the "reverse" side of the fabric is washed out and desaturated, with a faded texture throughout the highlights the ripstop weave. Fairly solid and structured, it still breathes well and dries quickly, essential aspects of any summer fabric.
