Notice: The small woven tag on the neck of these shirts was cut out before import to avoid confusing the Trump administration, as the "Fabric from Japan" label lead them to believe these garments were manufactured in Japan, not Thailand, and tariffs were erroneously placed on the shipment until the tags were removed.
W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high-quality, heritage-inspired garments for women — with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converted shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops and artisans.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection is titled "Spinning For A Revolution," and draws inspiration from early women's cycling apparel, suffragette cyclists from the late 1800s, and the writings of Dervla Murphy — whose stories detailed her solo bicycle journey from Ireland to India in the early '60s. Following its invention, women began to enjoy unexpected new freedom through bicycle travel, allowing them to access social spheres and spaces outside of the home, and freeing them from the restrictive dress norms of the era.
The Naa Shirt is a cropped, sleeveless button up with a slightly boxy fit and rounded collar. Cut with a simple five button placket, the front also features two utility pockets, while the back is constructed with a clean, one-piece design. Not much to add beyond that, it's a simple yet exceptional warm weather piece, with a surprising amount of layering potential and stylistic versatility.
It's made from an off-white Japanese cotton/nylon fabric - lightweight, exceptionally breathable, and remarkably durable, it's a perfect summer fabric that can easily be dressed up should the need arise. Like any good summer fabric, it's cool and airy, able to wick moisture and dry quickly, making it an ideal material for hotter weather.
