Description

Black Sign's CIvilian Cossack Jacket is a fantastic casual piece of outwear with a cropped fit and a lightweight, unlined body. The silhouette is old school, with a small rounded collar and a mostly flat hem that sits nicely above the top of your trousers. It's got two pockets on the front for storage, and two adjustable buckles at the sides that can be used to bring in the waist in. Unlike the classic cossack jackets that these take inspiration from, Black Sign have cut their Civilian Cossacks with raglan sleeves for a more athletic shape and an easy fit, giving a "1930s sportswear" vibe to the style.

For the Spring/Summer edition, they've been sewn up from a lightweight cotton ripstop fabric, a great summer textile with a breathable face, durable weave, and an easy drape that requires no break in to feel comfortable. Black Sign have also left the body unlined, creating a jacket with the weight and thickness of a shirt, making it a comfortable choice even on hotter days, as well as an easy mid-layer when things get colder.

The other details worth mentioning include the Tagua nut buttons, which close up the placket, cuffs, and pockets, the previously-referenced black GI buckles at each side of the hem, and the custom woven Black Sign Human Laboratory tag in the neck. The stitching is exacting, with high-SPI seams throughout, and complex paneling that enhances the more anatomical fit of the jacket.
