Description
The Loro were inspired by hard wearing Western Roper boots, with a sleek profile and slender shaft. Featuring a double row flat welt construction, twin pull tabs at the top of the shaft, and a raised logger heel, they're handsome and hard-wearing, but will only get better over time as the black dye at the surface of the leather wears down and reveals the brown core underneath.
The leather is serious - Italian tea core horsehide, hand-selected and then given a final oil treatment in Japan before being cut and sewn into boots. The leather is quite stiff initially, but over time will relax as it breaks in and takes the shape of your foot. The expertly selected horsehide will form appealing rolls as it wears in, differing from the more tight creases that aged cowhide will develop.
Standing on a leather outsole and Quabaug heel, RDT finish each pair by covering the outsole with a rubber topy for extra traction and durability. The inside features a kip lining that will break in over time and take the shape of your foot, becoming more and more comfortable as the insole softens with wear.
These are built on Rolling Dub Trio's modified Munson last with a standard D-width. As a roper, these feature a narrow shaft and low instep that can make challenging to get on or off for individuals with particularly high arches and/or insteps.
