W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.
Introducing the new Spring/Summer '24 Collection: Pawai Paratroopers - a celebration of Thailand's first group of female paratroopers, whose motto was "to prove that women can do anything as well as a man, no matter what affair. Whatever the task, be it on land, in water, or in the air." (Paratrooper Ampai Sombat, Freedom Magazine 1961). Through their action, these women became cultural figureheads of radical change during the 1960s, inspiring new attitudes towards women and social progress throughout Thailand.
The Landing Parka is a cropped utility jacket with an attractive silhouette and plenty of storage space! Featuring a military style extended hood with bungee cord drawstrings, the front includes two double-entry pockets with zip and flap closures, as well as a large internal pocket sewn into the back. Closing up with contrasting white buttons, the waistband also includes elasticated drawstrings to adjust your fit on the fly.
It's made from a 100% cotton Japanese selvedge denim with a classic indigo dye. This raw fabric is expected to shrink some with washes, so we suggest cold water and hang-drying to minimize any adulteration of the fit. Fairly soft and immediately comfortable, the fabric will only relax further as it breaks in, developing unique fades over time as the indigo wears away in some areas.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
