The Joe McCoy Panama Shirts are a great piece of old-world style, a proper camp collar shirt made from a crispy and open basket weave that breathes easily in the heat. The body is wide and boxy, with a nice relaxed fit that's perfect for warm days - the chest features a single pocket for your sunglasses (and NOTHING else), and the camp collar can be worn closed with a hidden button and loop, should you so desire.
It's made from a 100% cotton basket weave fabric that starts out stiff and rigid but softens and relaxes considerably over time and with washing. Basket weave, also called Panama weave (after the way Panama hats are woven) is a relaxed and open fabric with lots of space for air to move between the different yarns, also helping it to dry quickly when it gets really hot.
Inspired by open collar shirts from the 1950s, it's sewn up with 100% cotton threads, and features Takase shell buttons along the front. The flat hem is a classic detail that compliments the relaxed and wide body nicely.
