Since its founding 2001, designer Hiroki Nakamura's Visvim has built an extremely dedicated cult following. With a laser focus on crafting unique and high quality "future vintage" garments, Visvim has gained international acclaim over the past two decades for their unique perspective and exceptional design.
Not limited strictly to workwear or couture, they produce Folkwear, inspired by regional and historical manufacturing techniques from mud-dyeing to crocheting, with collections that build off of each previous year and develop holistically, season after season.
Taking its inspiration from vintage military jacket liners, the Iris Jacket elevates the style several notches with its luxury construction and fully reversible design. With two unique (but tonally consistent) faces, this is essentially two jackets in one, a self-contained theme and variations. The "inner" face features tonal elbow pads made from the same fabric as the "outer" face, as well as a different pocket orientation, meaning that reversing the jacket isn't simply swapping the color, but actually putting on a different design.
Made from a combination of custom, natural dyed nylon and rayon fabrics (one for each face respectively), with a polyester mid-fill for extra insulation. Four pockets, two internal two external, give you plenty of storage space and full functionality regardless of which side you choose to wear.
With cotton HBT trims and an aesthetically tarnished Swiss Riri zipper (that reverses just like the jacket), the details are as exceptional as the rest of the garment. Just like the vintage liners that inspire it, the Iris jacket features buttonholes for affixing to the inside of another (compatible) outer coat, and deadstock snaps at the cuffs.
