1st PAT-RN is the brainchild of designers Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin, established out of their combined experience in design and fashion consultation. Their garments are laser focused on wearability and optimized for daily life. Kind of a strange sentence, because what clothes aren't? But it starts to make a lot more sense once you've tried on some 1st PAT-RN. Everything, and we do mean everything, from the fabric composition, to the cut, to the placement of pockets, is done with the wearer in mind.
The Horloger "Masterwork Blazer" is a classic work sack jacket with a tasteful combination of vintage and contemporary details. Cut with a handsome notch lapel, it's got a five button placket that wears most naturally in a 3-button stance, with the upper two buttons sitting beneath its lapels. It's got four external pockets, including a small "ticket pocket" on the righthand side, and one more inside for plenty of storage space.
It's got a tailored fit, not snug or loose, with a partial buggy lining through the upper body and sleeves, as well as a fully-finished interior for exceptional durability and reliability while traveling. The armholes have just enough room to not restrict movement while still cutting a clean silhouette, and the whole thing trends just a hair shorter in length than a more formal jacket, to keep things from looking sloppy while sitting down.
It's made from 1st PAT-RN's new Re-Tweed herringbone twill, a custom fabric produced with a more much softer hand and a more fluid drape than other more traditional tweeds. Woven it Italy, it's made from a blend of cotton, linen, wool, and nylon to achieve the desired softness without sacrificing durability, with an airy weave that feels almost like a knit fabric.
It's finished with tonal galalite buttons up the placket and at the end of each sleeve, with a casual single button cuff that is actually functional, unlike the buttons on some blazer sleeves. It's got a Bemberg cotton-cupro buggy lining to help make layering easier as well as providing additional insulation and comfort.
