11.11 is an exceptional label, with an ethos that strongly aligns with the S&S call to own fewer, better things — producing slow-fashion garments deliberately and sustainably across a network of local artisans and craftspeople throughout India. Everything they make is truly unique, with an undeniably natural and "human" element, from their patchwork and kantha embroidery, to the irregular nature of their low-tension handwoven textiles, to the tie-dye and natural indigo finishes, all of which will patina beautifully over time.
The Gleam Jacket is 11.11's modern interpretation of a trucker jacket, somewhere between a type-2 and type-3, but softened and with a more minimalist design. It's got a relaxed, unisex fit, cut wide through the body with two welted hand pockets and two flap chest pockets for storage. The inside is partially-lined through the yoke for comfort and durability as well and everything closes up with tonal white buttons.
It's made from a highly textured indigo fabric, woven from handspun organic cotton yarns, with a complex face that uses undyed outer yarns and indigo inner ones. The 100% cotton body is immediately soft and comfortable, but will continue to soften and break-in over time. Additionally, the natural indigo dye will fade in high wear areas, and as a result of washing, growing lighter and producing a unique patina.
True to size. May crock or bleed indigo onto other surfaces initially. Cold wash and hang dry.
