The Free Pleat Trousers are MotivMFG's answer for a "one size fits all" trouser. Featuring two large inverted pleats attached to an internal drawstring waist (that peeks out to close up externally at the front of the pants) that can be used to adjust the pants. This free pleat system allows each size to fit and drape correctly across an 8"-10"+ change in the waistband. The cut is a wide, straight leg, which pairs well with the adjustable drawstring waist and lightweight fabric, making these an ideal pant for warm weather, or just lounging around comfortably.
Motiv's Tussah Silk Broadcloth is an incredible fabric, sourced from one of the last remaining mills in China that exclusively produces tussah silk. Tussah silk is sometimes also called wild silk, being sourced from the cocoons of wild silk moths that live in forests throughout India and Southeast Asia, rather than cultivated from domesticated silk worms in a farm. Woven at a high density from irregular tussah yarns, the midnight silk broadcloth has a plush face with fluid drape and a gentle sheen.
The irregularity of the individually woven yarns creates tonal and textural variation in both horizontal and vertical directions, giving an almost plaid-like impression at certain angles. Despite its relative thickness, the fabric breathes extremely well, keeping you cool and comfortable when temperatures rise. Not quite black or navy, the midnight color is an extremely dark blue that can be dressed up or down quite easily.
