With a focus on elevated knitwear, the Olde Homesteader brand takes inspiration from vintage American boxers, specifically a deadstock pair of woven trunks from their archives - creating simple and exceedingly high quality base layers for daily wear.
Produced start to finish in Japan, Olde Homesteader utilizes premium Banshu-ori fabrics from Nishiwaki City, in Hyogo Prefecture. These textiles are made traditionally, woven and dyed using the same regional techniques originally developed in the 1700s. This antique production is slow and deliberate, overseen by a small team of highly specialized craftspeople continuing a centuries-long tradition of local textile creation.
The Extra Cotton Jersey Crewneck is a lightweight sweatshirt with a classic shape, relaxed through the torso with long sleeves and slightly dropped shoulders. It's made from 100% cotton yarns and features a tightly-woven, medium-lightweight knit that drapes well and feels great on bare skin. The cuffs and hem use a tight rib knit to help give a more vintage silhouette, the collar is also ribbed, but features a unique crewneck shape that tapers in width.
The knit is perfect for warmer weather, light and easy to layer, it's the sort of thing you can wear almost all year long - throwing it on under heavier pieces when temperatures drop. It's got a nice stretch to it, and breathes well thanks to the lightweight body.
These run slightly small - we suggest choosing one size larger than you regularly wear for a comfortable fit. Wash cold and dry flat.
