MotivMFG is headed by Samuel Wei, founder of Radiance Blue and the pioneer of the heritage market in China; and Daniel Gu, a third-generation tailor and designer. Together, they combine old-world tailoring (from various antique European manuals) with workwear production techniques. Constant research into garment production techniques around the world informs their design, with the goal of creating “recreations” rather than “reproductions”

These are a proper pair of tailored trousers with a handsome "Hollywood waist", where the fabric of the legs continues up to the top and is turned over to finish the waist. This eliminates the need for a separate waistband piece, creating an exceptionally comfortable fit and flattering. In addition, these feature a split waistband, allowing for size adjustments over time at the tailor, if necessary.

It's made from a beautiful 100% linen serge fabric, produced by the best linen weaving mill in Shenzhen using specialty high-twist yarns with a traditional delave finish. The pattern is inspired by vintage French workwear textiles, with narrow irregular pinstripes in a low-contrast combination, and is finished with a washing process that both softens and relaxes the weave, increasing airiness and comfort. 

Over time and with extensive wear, this fabric is designed to age like an antique linen, getting even more comfortable and developing a gentle luster in some areas, while growing thin and fading in others. The combination of the shape and fabric on the allow them to be worn casually or paired with a blazer (or really anything with a formal lapel) for a smarter vibe.
