W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.
Introducing the new Spring/Summer '24 Collection: Pawai Paratroopers - a celebration of Thailand's first group of female paratroopers, whose motto was "to prove that women can do anything as well as a man, no matter what affair. Whatever the task, be it on land, in water, or in the air." (Paratrooper Ampai Sombat, Freedom Magazine 1961). Through their action, these women became cultural figureheads of radical change during the 1960s, inspiring new attitudes towards women and social progress throughout Thailand.
The Engineers Jacket is a brilliant single-pleat workwear jacket with a slightly cropped fit and a ton of utility. Featuring all metal snaps at the placket and cuffs, it has two external hand pockets and two internal chest pockets - with a pencil slot cleverly integrated into the front yoke of the jacket. The fit is easy, with enough room in the torso to layer, but not so much as to exaggerate or alter your silhouette.
It's made from a 100% cotton Japanese selvedge denim with a classic indigo dye. This raw fabric is expected to shrink some with washes, so we suggest cold water and hang-drying to minimize any adulteration of the fit. Fairly soft and immediately comfortable, the fabric will only relax further as it breaks in, developing unique fades over time as the indigo wears away in some areas.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
