Description
Inspired by knockabout work shirts from the 1950s onwards, the Dayton Shirt is your classic Garage work shirt, complete with camp collar, twin chest pockets, and comfortable short sleeves. The fit is pretty standard, breezy and unrestrictive but in general not too slim or too wide, with a comfortable body that wears well both tucked and untucked.
It's made with Freenote's usual stellar construction, including their usual 1/8" double needle stitching and durable felled seams. The hardware, buttons in this case, are metal repro catseye buttons from Japan, and can be found the whole way up the placket as well as at the top of each chest pocket.
It's made from a fabric that looks suspiciously like denim, but technically isn't. Made from 100% cotton, this is a "double-weave twill" from Japan, with a unique front and back texture that's like a blend of a denim twill and a canvas fabric. It's got the classic indigo warp/gray weft of vintage denim, with a stonewashed finish to really sell the look and properly soften everything. Clocking in at a comfortable 9oz, it'll continue to fade with time and wear, losing indigo in the same way denim does, but revealing a less familiar weave texture.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
