Produced in Japan, Olde H & Daughter utilizes premium Banshu-ori fabrics from Nishiwaki City, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. These textiles are made traditionally, woven and dyed using the same regional techniques originally developed in the 1700s. This antique production is slow and deliberate, overseen by a small team of highly specialized craftspeople continuing a centuries-long tradition of local textile creation.
Olde H & Daughter is the sister line to Olde Homesteader, with a focus on luxury mid layers and knit silk garments. The & Daughter sub-label is knit and woven using the same vintage techniques and fabrics as mainline Olde Homesteader, but produces more contemporary unisex styles and silhouettes than Olde Homesteader's simple knit thermals.
The Boat Neck Pullover is an oversized and slouchy knit midlayer with an open and airy face on top of the relaxed fit. The boat neck collar is standard, present but not exaggerated, cutting a pleasant and summery silhouette over the roomy torso and flat hem. The wide fit, full sleeves, and extended body pair naturally with the lightweight knit, allowing the garment to breathe and making for the ideal warm-season layering piece.
It's knit up from a blend of cotton and silk yarns, clocking in at an even 50/50 ratio. The knit itself is a comfortable medium-gauge, with a pleasant heft and texture that doesn't feel too stiff or cumbersome. As far as touch goes, it's an outstandingly comfortable material — soft, cool, and dry, it's both breathable and warm, and thin enough to easily fit beneath other garments when temperatures drop.
Unisex with a relaxed fit. Hand wash cold and dry flat or spot clean.
