Description
While it's certainly a normal, everyday part of life for most Californians today, the sport of rock climbing only initially became popular in the 1970s. A great outdoor activity that when done properly (and safely) can lead to wholesome summer fun for everyone - rock climbing consists of a person climbing up some kind of a rock, be it a cliff, mountain, cave wall, or just a boulder!
Based on climbing shorts from the 1970s, the Real McCoy's have not missed a single detail in terms of style or functionality, cutting the shorts with a comfortable medium high rise, just-above-the-knee length inseam, and an elasticated waistband with an internal nylon belt. The anatomical fit pairs with the adjustable waistband to move with you and always fit perfectly - with a gusset in the crotch that allows even greater range of uninhibited motion.
These are made from a sturdy, 100% cotton twill in a two-tone configuration of royal and navy blue. With an equally interesting contrasting red nylon belt, these are a "raw" twill that starts out a little stiff and require a slight break in. After a wash they will soften considerably, and subsequent washes will increase this effect. Over time, wear and washing will also fade the fabric, albeit more slowly than the garment-dyed versions of these shorts.
Fits true to size - if you're in between sizes, take the larger of the two. Raw, so these will come in a bit when they are first washed. Minimal shrinkage expected with cold wash and hang dry.
