A serious performance trainer, the Challenger is an all-terrain trail runner with a lightweight construction, plush interior cushioning, and GORE-TEX upper fabric for maximum durability and resistance to terrain and weather. With a hybrid design that's comfortable both on and off-road, they stand on a custom Durabrasion rubber outsole that was inspired by gravel tires, featuring varied lug heights for improved traction on uneven surfaces.
The uppers are made from a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit fabric, produced with 70% recycled polyester yarns, that's lightweight, waterproof, and strong. Inside, these feature plush padding with soft foam cushioning at specific sections of the uppers and interior, for maximum comfort at all times. Beneath your foot, you'll find Hoka's usual compression molded EVA foam midsole, helping retain the shoe's shape and providing a supportive base for your soles.
These weigh in at about 9.7oz per shoe, a very agreeable lightweight that you can keep on for hours without fatiguing yourself. Hoka describe the last they're built on as "balanced", with a standard width and comfortable athletic fit. We've found them to fit true to size, so the same as your brannock measurement / standard sneaker size in Nike or Adidas.
