1st PAT-RN is the brainchild of designers Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin, established out of their combined experience in design and fashion consultation. Their garments are laser focused on wearability and optimized for daily life. Kind of a strange sentence, because what clothes aren't? But it starts to make a lot more sense once you've tried on some 1st PAT-RN. Everything, and we do mean everything, from the fabric composition, to the cut, to the placement of pockets, is done with the wearer in mind.
The Artis is 1st PAT-RN's "Artisan Jacket", with a more refined take on a chore coat design and a casual, relaxed silhouette. It takes some vintage workwear details, loosely inspired by the garments of European artists and craftspeople during the early 1900s, with a chest pocket modeled after one on a jacket worn by Albert Einstein. It features a clean-finish interior and exterior, with a comfortable lining and immaculate stitchwork throughout.
It's got a really classic fit, sitting comfortably when taken true-to-size, or sitting a bit looser if worn oversized for easier layering. There's three exterior pockets for storage, two for your hands and one on the chest, and the placket closes up with tonal Galalith buttons.
It's made from a custom lightweight cotton/linen fabric that was developed by 1st PAT-RN for their exclusive use, and is produced for them in Veneto, Italy. It's woven in a micro-houndstooth pattern, and is finished with a double-washing process (the fabric is washed once before cutting, and the garment is washed a second time after sewing) to relax and soften everything, imbuing it with a slightly more worn and weathered texture.
