Constant research into garment production techniques around the world informs their design, with the goal of creating “recreations” rather than “reproductions”
Taking inspiration from European military surplus, specifically French and Italian cargo pants, Motiv's Adjustable Cargo pants feature a relaxed fit with anatomically slanted cargo pockets and drawstrings at the waist and hem. Cut with a high rise and full legs, there's plenty of space to move around in, keeping them comfortable and unrestrictive despite their stiff fabric.
The waistband is cut slightly oversized, and is designed to be taken in with the attached drawstring - beneath that, the fly features multiple top buttons that can be selected for another inch of adjustment. Because of the oversized fit and adjustable waist, each size will fit a wide range of people, accommodating about 3" +/- the waistband in either direction.
Made from a totally custom waxed cotton fabric, developed exclusively for MotivMFG by Halley Stevenson in the UK, these are a medium-lightweight (270gsm) fabric with a smooth texture and excellent water resistance. It's a remarkable fabric, with the softness and drape of a standard twill, that will develop a dramatic patina upon washing and with wear.
The inside is as impressive as the outside, with a clean finish interior and almost full lining (using a soft and lightweight brushed cotton twill) through the legs. The hardware is all custom, with metal buttons sewn under fabric reinforcements for maximum durability.
True to size with a highly adjustable waistband. Machine wash cold on delicate cycle and hang dry.
