8HU (8 Hour Union) is a Joe McCoy sub-label that focuses specifically on the garments produced after the rapid postwar industrial boom in the US (roughly 1930-1950), recreating some of the most humble yet influential workwear pieces of the last century.
Part work shirt, part flannel, all business. Cut with a relaxed, overshirt fit, it's great for layering underneath and works well as outerwear, especially during transitional seasons. It has two pattern matched chest pockets for storing your stuff (they button closed too) and a rounded hem with gussets and chainstitch runoffs at the seams.
It's sewn up from a super heavyweight custom flannel, woven on vintage looms with a slubby and uneven face texture. This stiff, blanket-weight fabric will break in over time & with wear, and does a fantastic job blocking wind and keeping in warmth.
Fits true to size with a relaxed overshirt cut. Wash cold and hang dry.
