Warehouse & Co came about in 1995, as the final members of the Osaka 5, the collective responsible for driving the vintage and selvedge denim boom of the 1990s. Founded by former Evisu and Full Count employees, the twin brothers Kenji and Kenichi Shiotani, Warehouse is known for their meticulous detail and considered construction.
To be clear, Warehouse refer to this as a "1920s Model", but these is some internal debate here at the shop with regards to that dating. It's not of any consequence to you, dear buyer, but we wanted to be transparent about the naming.
This is a classic type 1, with a wide body just covered in pleats - double pleats up both sides of the placket, and two large pleats running from hem to yoke on the back. It features copper rivet reinforcements, small-size iron tack buttons on the front, and a two-prong iron buckle back for adjusting your fit. The single open top pocket is just big enough for most modern cell phones, and easily fits any non-giant wallet.
It's made from a 100% cotton, rope-dyed, natural indigo selvedge raw (unsanforized) denim that will shrink after washing. It's a comfortable medium weight fabric, that will gain a little thickness after washing as the denim will shrink vertically and become more dense. Stiff and crunchy from the outset, it will soften considerably over time with regular wear and subsequent washing.
These are an unwashed shrink-to-fit denim that have been cut large and will shrink to tag size over the course of the first 1-3 washes. Will shrink at least 10%, even with a cold wash and hang dry. Hotter washing/drying will result in further shrinkage.
